This specimen is a skull prepared as a teaching tool for medical students. The calvarium cut which allows access to view inside the skull, has been glued shut. The mandible can be removed for closer examination. Most of the teeth are present, with some chipping. The two central incisors are missing completely, and do not show any sign of post-mortem loss. The individual likely lost these two teeth early on, allowing for healing and drifting, or the teeth could have never formed and erupted properly. Additionally, this skull shows evidence of trauma on the right parietal bone. This skull has a soft white patina and metal hardware. Responsibly sourced, beautifully preserved, and thoughtfully selected, this skull is the perfect tool for medical students, working professionals, and individuals interested in learning about osteology.
